Ordering and Shipping

How long does it take to get a unit once ordered?

We usually ship with 2 days of order. Shipping time in California will be 3- 6 days normally. For other states, shipping time is 5 to 10 days.

How do you ship FireFighter1?

We normally ship by UPS. Sometimes we use other shippers including the US Postoffice.

Installation

How much will a typical Pool Service charge to install FireFighter1?

Typical charges are in the $75 to $150 range and it will depend on your current pump, filter, and piping configuration.

What is the required pool pump horse power?

If the pool pump circulates water through the filter with no problem, it should be fine. Most pool pumps will be greater that 1HP.

What tubing size pipe, unions, or couplings should I use to install the diverter?

The short answer is the same as that of the pipe between the pump and filter. It will most usually be 1.5″ or 2″.

Where should I locate the FireFighter1 hose storage box or hanger?

Take a look at this page and it will answer the question.

Usage

How long can I run FireFighter1 before the pool is drained?

With a 50ft hose and a 1.5HP pump we measured the time it took to fill a large container. The flow rate was between 28 gallons/min and 33 gallons/minute on repetitive measurements. So on average a 20,000 gallon pool will take about 11 hours to drain.

General

What is the difference between the screw type and quick release connectors?

The quick release hose connector can be quickly clamped onto the male counterpart installed on the diverter while the screw type connector has the screwed on (takes a little more time and may be more subject to dirt accumulation in the threads that hinders screwing.

Can I buy more hose?

Yes, you can buy hose from the store, either as replacement hose or additional hose to extend the length of the hose you already have.
